What a fantastic post, Daniel! I especially appreciate how you carefully rated different features of the resort. Much better than what one can find on TripAdvisor.

Admittedly, the Chitwan National Park was never on my radar. I was delightfully surprised to discover that there are very affordable non-stop flights from Delhi that are less than 2 hours – an easy side trip before or after a cruisetour of the Sacred Ganges River and India’s “Golden Triangle” (Delhi, Jaipur and Agra).

At the foot of the Himalayas, the Royal Chitwan National Park is a reserve that protects more than 360 square miles (932 square km) of forests, marshland and grassland containing 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, and 126 species of fish, making this UNESCO World Heritage Site one of the best national parks for viewing wildlife in Asia. There are tour operators that specialize in a variety of safaris including elephant safaris, jungle walks, bird watching, canoeing, and elephant bathing. You’ll have an excellent chance of spotting one-horned rhinos, deer, and monkeys. If you’re extremely lucky, you may spot a leopard, wild elephant or sloth bear – though it’s the once-in-a-lifetime chance to spot a majestic royal Bengal tiger that’s the premier attraction. You can also opt for a cultural visit a Tharu village to witness local tribal life and a traditional show.

I’ve pinned your post. I can’t wait to share it with clients going on the Ganges River cruisetour who have a wanderlust for nature and a taste for authentic and immersive experiences without having to compromise on luxury, comfort or top-quality service. I’ll also share it in my Facebook travel group. Thanks for making my job easier and that much more interesting! Best wishes and happy travels.

Thank you so much for your comment. Yes, there is an airport not too far from the sanctuary and flights from Delhi are quite common and once you get there, there are plenty of activities to indulge in. I will be writing about these soon, so stay tuned 🙂 It’s really nice of you to share your post, I’m always happy to hear such nice words about my articles. All the best and happy travels 🙂

For the vehicles – are you allowed to drive them? Or do you get a chauffeur to take you in to the city? The place looks amazing – I love all those wood beams. I can see why you gave it a 5/5 on so many of the categories.

Great hotel! Location and architecture wise. I like the fact that it looks warm, something that luxury hotels are not famous for.
