Taiwan is home to 23 million people. Around 95% of the total population consists of ethnic Han Chinese . The main minority ethnic groups are Malayo-Polynesian and others.

Taiwan has a marine tropical climate the northern and central regions are subtropical, whereas the south is tropical and the mountainous regions are temperate. Taiwan has 4 seasons (Summer, Spring, Autumn and Winter).
