This is a great article! Literally traveling solo teaches many things and every one should experience at least once in a life. This is the major option where you can learn more thing by yourself without depending on others! Thanks for wonderful reasons I’ll definitely try for my next trip!

Traveling solo is one of my top goals for 2019. They say that it is life-changing and yes, it is a great way to meet new friends. I haven’t decided on a destination yet and is still looking for recommendations.

Travelling solo is one thing I have never done and is not something I reckon I would enjoy. Although I totally get why it could be an amazing experience as most solo travellers say the same things that you have. I do like the idea of not having to travel on someone elses schedule and being able to do whatever I want to suit my interests. I do love getting lost though. You really do discover things along the way you would otherwise not have seen or experienced.

I have never travelled solo, but find this post very inspirational! Not sure I’d like to go solo though, but will give it a second thought. There are definitely some destinations I would consider to visit on my own that my friends don’t like to visit.

You have some great points. I traveled solo for 3 or 4 years out of college and I agree that it was a life changing experience. Having to go it alone without a buddy to rely on is eye-opening and really exposes you to different opportunities for growth you wouldn’t have otherwise. With that being said, I am glad I experienced it, and now I am so happy to be traveling with my lovey-dovey husband 🙂

Some really good reasons for travelling solo – I agree with all! I realised after travelling solo myself (and I always thought of myself to be an introvert) that I made a lot more friends than I did when travelling with someone. Yes, there are tough times and you learn to find your way and that makes you a more confident and sure person too, you learn to live outside your comfort zone and also, I love the point about looking at people as ‘us’ rather than ‘we’ and ‘them’.

As a fellow solo traveler, I absolutely agree with all of this. I think my biggest takeaway when I first started traveling solo when I was 24 was just getting to know myself better since I was spending so much more time with myself. I love what you said about learning to trust your gut and thereby valuing yourself more. Solo travel can definitely help strengthen your sense of self confidence and not caring so much what others think of you because you trust your own gut to guide you in the right direction and trust in the choices you’re making. Keep traveling!

The first solo vacation I took was to Puerto Rico. As you said, I definitely made a ton of friends even though I didn’t intend to! I still travel solo to this day because I love to be pushed outside of my comfort zone. It definitely challenges me in ways I never have before, which is also thrilling. This year I hope to continue solo traveling. Thanks for the fabulous post!

I totally love this post. It brings back to me my memories of my solo travels. Made new friends, stayed in hostels, got freaked out in a secluded area in dark, planned things with shoe string budget etc etc etc. Today, I’m a mom traveling with toddler, but I hope to travel solo again once she grows up a bit!

You’ve written some valid points supporting solo travel and I have several friends who stand by them. I’ve unfortunately discovered the pleasure of travelling with my wife and can possibly never get myself to travel solo again 😛 Wish you all the luck in your travels though!
