Germany is home to 80 million people. Large majority of the total population consists of ethnic Germans. The main minority ethnic groups are Danish Sorb, Slavic and Roma.
The official language is German, with 7-8 other minority languages. Most Germans are multilingual where around 67% speak one foreign language and 27% speak more.

With a territory of 357,022 square kilometers, Germany shares the border with Denmark to the north, Netherlands to the northwest, Czech Republic and Poland to the east, Austria to the southeast, and Switzerland to the south while France, Luxembourg and Belgium are situated to the west.
Germany’s climate is temperate and continental with four different seasons. The winters (December-March) regularly have temperatures below 0 while the summers are relatively hot with the average temperature ranging between 20 and 24 °C.

Germany is a developed country with highly skilled labor force, and a high level of innovation. It has the average monthly income of 2,500 Euros, making traveling in Germany relatively expensive.
